This is the Swamp Rat Crash Axe. It is a special offering that will be available at the Blade show in Atlanta. It is made from modified S7, which is used in battering rams, wood-chipper blades, pneumatic tools, and blacksmith chisels. It doesn't get as sharp or hold an edge as well as 52100, but it is more resistant to impact. The handle is micarta. Note the finger grooves behind the head. These facilitate the use of the blade as an Ulu.
